Mixed Experience at JT Nails

Our recent visit to JT Nails provided a mix of experiences, leaving us with both positives and areas for improvement.

Upon arrival, we were promptly greeted and signed in, and the wait time was shorter than expected, with only 12 minutes of the advised 20-minute wait. The nail technicians assigned was friendly and attentive, listening carefully to our requests. They were thorough and knowledgeable about the reflexology services we requested, which added to the overall relaxation of the experience.

However, the disparity in service quality was noticeable, as one of the nail technicians seemed less thorough in their approach. While one technician provided adequate stone and warm towel applications, another technician only offered these extras briefly, which was disappointing considering it was part of the billed services.

Despite this inconsistency, our visit was relaxing overall, and we appreciated the efforts of the attentive staff. While we may consider returning in the future, we hope for more consistency in the level of service provided across the board….

I tipped him and Kim both $20 each, cash and ended up paying 135 with my credit card for acrylic full set with three gemstones and French tip coffin shape and a basic pedicure. Kim did get a little frustrated when I asked her to fill in some polish on the edges of my toenails. Kim did do two coats on my toes and made sure she did a thorough job. But it did take 2 1/2 hours for an acrylic full set three gemstones and a classic pedicure with basic polish. Hopefully next time it will not take 2 1/2 hours….

I went into ocean nails a while ago but this experience hasn’t left me. First when we walked in there was no greeting at all. I stood at the counter and no one came to talk to us for what felt like 10 min but it was probably less (mind you someone was behind the counter just staring at us, but they didn’t work there). When two other nail salons in town absolutely ruined my nails, I called Le Dream crying. Sobbing. Begging them to please fix them and make my nails look pretty for my trip/engagement. To the very nice and patient woman who answered the phone – thank you so much for your understanding and getting me in that same day. I’m so sorry you had to deal with my hysterics.

When I walked in that afternoon, I was greeted by Lucy, who proceeded to be so kind and compassionate when I told her (through more tears) why I was in there that day. Lucy was so thoughtful and patient with me, and made sure to check in with me numerous times during my appointment to make sure that I was okay and everything looked as I expected it to. She made me feel comfortable and heard and not at all like I was crazy for being so emotional over two failed attempts at having pretty nails (seriously y’all – they were so bad before she got a hold of me). Thank you so much Lucy for your kindness and amazing work. I have officially found my new favorite nail salon and I will be sure to always book my appointments with Lucy from now on.

I did spend a little more than normal due to having to have tips and dip removed from the last salon, as well as getting the flame design on all 10 fingers, but in my opinion it was worth every penny to leave there feeling like I didn’t have troll hands anymore….

Nails by Jimmy is not a chop shop. The salon reflects the pride of the owners and offers highly skilled technicians and quality products. So if you're paying more it's because you're getting more.

As an aging woman, I find I have less patience when I see something "wrong", and I speak out. By far the worst pedicure I've ever gotten. I took my mom here for Mother's Day and we both left very unsatisfied with our pedicures, the service, and the technicians. The service from start to finish was awful. My biggest complaint is that there was absolutely no consistency in shaping my toe nails. Some nails were trimmed way to short, some hardly trimmed at all. The technician did not use a nail file after trimming therefore some of the toe nails are sharp on the edges. The cuticals were not trimmed at all. How do you do this bad of a job shaping and prepping the nail? Both technicians were not giving up on trying to up sell us on choosing the most expensive pedicure package, even half way through the pedicure. They also asked an annoying amount of times if we wanted a manicure. We said, not today 4 times. The pedicures we received today were absolutely not worth the $129 I spent on my mom and I. I will not go back here and I do not recommend this place to anyone. 2 different technicians provided horrible services in this small establishment….

2nd visit update: apparently this place is hit or miss. Although the girl who did my pedicure was extremely nice and polite, the polish job was very sloppy. She did not even remove the clear polish that was on my nails to begin with, and did not file the nail bed, resulting in a bumpy, messy job. There are very noticeable pits and ridges, smeared polish – definitely does not look like I had them done professionally. New owners and ever since my nails have been horrible! My acrylic nail set is terribly done! There are tons of bubbles, the polish is sloppy, and the chrome that was put on top isn't rubbed all the way thru and is blotchy. Plus the nails are super thick and have horrible shape! Im leaving for Vegas on Thursday and am just gonna have to have them redone there!

I showed the picture of what I wanted which is silver chrome nails with a round, mid-length shape. Chrome nails means you put a color on which is then followed by a shimmer powder. They said they can do it!! Wish they would've said they can't! A girl started on my nails while the guy finished up and she put on two of the tips crooked which the guy had to take off and fix. The guy doing my nails did an excellent job on the length/shape for the first two nails but he kept messing with them and they ended up being way shorter than intended which made his redo a few of them to try and match the length of the other hand (they still don't match). When applying the gel polish he puts the first coat down, UV thems, and then on the second coat he does the first hand and then on the second hand he must've saw he messed something up because he then proceeds to take the polish off of 3 nails which caused powder to fly everywhere onto the nails which had the second coat and weren't UVed yet! He then tries to wipe all the nails off, reapplies them. When the chrome powder comes out he did this to two of the nails again where he takes everything off, powder flies, and they weren't UVed yet so now powder is mixed in with the color.

I was there for 3 hours and at this point just wanted to get the heck out of there!!! I paid with 20% tip and left. Will NEVER come back here!!! The nail techs need to be trained better! I've been coming here for 2 years and only recognized one of the faces in there this time.

It's been 3 days since I got my nails done and all of the nails are slowly chipping at the front!!! I got gel polish! How is that even possible? I've never seen anything like it! Horrible, horrible, horrible! I put a new photo of the chipping!…

Horrible experience! I went to this place on Sunday. The nail tech cut my cuticle too deep and caused significant bleeding. Using some agent to stop bleeding but much cross contamination went on during his attempt to “clean.” He went on to giggle uncomfortably while apologizing for the incident but didn’t provide a bandage or even anything comped on the service. My finger is now infected.

I usually write positive reviews, but this one will be more constructive. I post this that so people who consider this salon may consider adverse outcomes based off my experience with the service, sanitation, and actual manicure outcomes, specifically with acrylic.
I came as a walk in for acrylic manicure on Fourth of July. It was busier, and I didn't mind waiting, so I waited about 15 minutes. They offered me a water bottle but that's all the positive feedback I have.

The lady who did my manicure seemed to be in a rush and not listening to me. I asked for dip on my acrylic but was given gel even though I asked before we started and asked for confirmation as she began doing my nails. I think her name was Sandy, but I am not 100% sure because she didn't have a name tag and didn't introduce herself. She kept answering calls during my appointment and was avoidant, maybe because she didn't want to speak or she was more inward which I don't mind. I do mind if you're not explaining what you're doing, especially when it's hurting.

She was super ROUGH on my nails, I had to ask her to be gentle when holding my hand to apply the acrylic, but she continued with the roughness. She was pinching my fingers hard and even lightly hit my hand to loosen my hand up. I was tense because she was hurting my hand with how tight she was holding it. She seemed confused on how to apply acrylic because she was rushing and messed up the application which took more time to buff and finish up. In the images I post, you can see how the application was not thoughtfully or carefully done.

Not all the employees are like this because the lady next to me was getting her nails done by a younger stylist who was patient, kind, and gentle based off my observation. I was hoping my nail lady would look at her and try to service me this way but my experience was consistent throughout.

She then went to apply the gel, which cracked the next day. My pinky nails were different lengths as well, which was frustrating because I was trying to be as patient and understanding as I could but it's simply not acceptable. I even tipped 20% because these salons depend on tips as well but I will not be returning.

She also used a nail tool from another station that did not seem to be cleaned or sanitized, she grabbed it in a rush, but in the back of my mind I was apprehensive to her using it on my nail. I wanted to trust her but after my treatment, I realized I should've left.

Sadly, I won't be returning and I urge others to not because of how the lady who did my nails treated me throughout the experience. I was dissatisfied with the service of this employee, the actual treatment on my nails by my nail lady, the sanitation habits, and the overall vibe. Hopefully they can get it together!…
