Spent $120 on my nails and feet to be done. The ladies who did my nails were really nice. But it took the one about 2 hours to do my dip powder. 2 nails completely broke after a couple of days! The one nail I was just scratching my head and it broke. On my one hand the nail cracked in the middle and it’s really painful. I unfortunately left the area for the week so can’t go back to them to fix it but won’t be returning to this salon anyways after this….

I had a negative experience at Riverside Nail Salon. My nail tech was on vacation, so I went to a different place. When I arrived, I was not welcomed and was stared at for a few minutes and I felt very uncomfortible. I requested a fill-in and was seated and serviced immediately. However, the lady who worked on my nails was unprofessional and rude. She asked me questions but got frustrated when I didn't understand and yelled at me. I told her I would leave if I wasn't a good fit. The only thing I asked for was a gel polish fill-in. Another staff male member came over and started yelling, saying I should stay because she knew what she was doing…. The salon was unprofessional, and as a licensed nail technician, I find it disgusting that they stored their products in a dip container and an Altoids box….

Went on a busy day I understand that but honestly the customer service was not great and that doesn’t excuse poor service . My nails just don’t even look nice the design I showed and what I got are two different things and on top of that it’s just messy looking. My nails look like if I had tried to do them myself and even then I think I would’ve done a better job. I went in for a full set and a classic pedicure. My full set was 52 dollars to look like a hot mess that I’m going home to remove after just leaving this nail salon. Choose your design wisely and where you go as well….

I was scrolling through my camera roll when I came across my visit to Lux from a year ago. Initially I didn’t leave a review because some of the staff members were super sweet (like Kay for example) but I’ve never felt so dissatisfied after a nail appointment so… Firstly, I had biab on my nails which the manicurist took literal hours to remove, I could tell she was struggling. I asked for a short chrome look and the application was SO thick. Keeping in mind this cost me well over 100 dollars so I’m expecting quality work. Then only a day or two afterwords the nails start ripping and tearing. I’ve been getting my nails done for years, they are strong and healthy so I couldn’t understand. I reached out to the owner and she said they’ve already processed my payment and can only give me a discount if I come back. I expressed that I don’t live in Florida but nothing was done. I received apologies but considering I had to get my nails redone immediately after I really would have appreciated at least a partial refund. :(…

I’ve been coming into VK Nails for the past two years & I’ve had great reviews & some bad. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had the worst luck with one of the nail techs there who goes by the name Houston I believe. He had a slight attitude when I requested a French tip with a thin layer of acrylic.. & told me he’s been doing nails for years & basically doesn’t need to be told how to do it. They’re usually understaffed when I go & they usually put me with him. Unfortunately, I can’t think of a time where my fingers & nails didn’t bleed after my appointment with him. He is very rough & rushes to get the job done, which has resulted in several nail infections, and swollen, bloody/bruised fingers (see pictures below) including my most recent visit, where all of my fingers were bleeding when I left. He was wiping blood off of my fingers & would go over the cuts again with the nail drill/nail file some more to make them bleed even more & then he would dig his fingernails deep into the wounds as hard as possible for whatever reason why. Leaving me in severe pain. (See pictures below) & on top of that, I noticed they don’t disinfect any of the nail tools there. I wanted to give them one last chance but I think this was my last visit with them and I’ll be going to a new salon….

Quite literally the worst pedicure I’ve ever gotten. I was there for nearly 1.5 hours for a classic pedicure and ended up with the worst polish job I’ve ever seen. The nail tech was rough, didn’t have a steady hand, and cut my nails way too short without asking me. First time I’ve ever left without paying. Once I told him I was unhappy and that I was not paying, I left in tears. He followed me to my car (huge red flag) and asked me to pay. I told him I was not paying as I had already wasted an hour and a half of my time for the worst pedicure I’ve gotten. He said he didn’t understand English very well so two women came out to the parking lot and asked me to come inside and explain what happened. I went back inside to at least give them the feedback and let them see in person. One woman did motion for me to come back to the pedicure chairs, I’m assuming to fix my toes, but I told them I was so upset I didn’t want to waste any more time and left….

I’m glad she did not rush but I thought that was a bit long just based off the other salons I’ve been to and requested the same thing. For this being my first time I don’t think I’ll be coming back….

Not only was I harassed by the girl with the tattoo on her face, she called the police and made up a story of me not paying all while still being serviced by the owner who already discussed she was taking off money for the inconvenience. “Tat Girl” proceeded to tell me “if you don’t have the money then just say that.” With a lot of other provoking and belittling words. All because I told her my nails which would be pictured below was not u to par. Not too mention the First Lady who did the nail put on got up because I told her I didn’t want to pay for long nails so make them shorter. It was literally a mess. They told me that the price would be $53 to replace one nail & shape them! As a retired medical assistant, she offers options for diabetics to receive safe pedicures. Everything is clean and sterilized as hygiene is important to her and she practices proper medical cleaning standards. I have been going to her since 2009 and I receive a lot of compliments on my nails. People from Central FL have said they are going to make the trip up to see her. The salon is quiet, comfortable, and intimate. You do not feel the hustle and bustle from 8 different nail stations and all of the noise that comes with it. You can relax and enjoy your time….

I don't write reviews very often but I'm honestly disappointed in the service I received. Not only did I get a messy French manicure, but when I went back to have it fixed, I was told she sees nothing wrong and I was just being picky. I paid extra for dip powder and colored French tips and, of course, I would expect quality work. I also mentioned to her that I struggle with anxiety and asked her to be more patient with me, explaining it took a lot for me to walk there today and ask for them to be redone. Instead, she got upset and said, "Maybe I should just give you a refund and never do your nails in the future." I told her that I'm going on vacation so I needed them redone. Rather than redo them, she only attempted to repaint the tips but they were still uneven. Frustrated, I finally just asked her to redo them all a solid color, but she just painted over the dip powder with gel. Not only did I not get what I initially paid for, but I was met with rudeness, plus "the fix" is still poor quality. They look sloppy and I know the polish will probably lift while I'm on vacation. Yeah, disappointed is an understatement… expecting attention to detail is not "picky" for the service I initially paid for; in addition to the inconvenience of returning for them to be fixed and still not look good. I also needed polish fixed from a pedicure (only one toe, but still more time I had to spend there). Anyway, the manicure pics posted are from both visits; they speak for themselves; I hate wasting money. At this point, they should definitely give me a full refund.

**Update** After thinking it over, I decided to go back and ask for a refund. Instead of talking with me about it privately, they shouted back and forth in front of other customers; again calling me "picky" but I reiterated "no, it's called expecting attention to detail for the service I'm paid for." At first, they refused a refund but eventually agreed to process a refund for my nails and the tip I gave. Beware of businesses who blame their customers for wanting quality work, instead of taking responsibility when service is poor. Review stands.

***Update 2*** As suspected, the polish started to lift and peel off only 4 days after "the fix." I added a photo of my thumbnail that I had to buff out until I could get somewhere on my vacation to have it fixed….

I appreciated walking in and someone was at the reception area waiting to greet and assist me. The inside was lovely and simple which I love. No appointment was required and I was serviced immediately (no wait). They used this cool machine to buff my feet which felt greet, I thought that was very unique and innovative as well as time saving for me and the technician. My technician was very invested into removing the dead skin around my cuticles and that is literally my favorite nail tech!!! I love seeing and peeling that away, it just makes the nail/feet look fresh and appealing!

I wonder if they plan to update the outside area to make it more appealing. It may be different shifts but there were not a lot of technicians working on this Friday. I am curious about them offering drinks, since I had water with me they did not ask but I also did not see other patrons with a drink from the establishment.

I worry that outsiders walking pass may not be drawn to come in as the outside has an outdated look. I think adding the extra service of offering a beverage or a warm aromatic shoulder pad would elevate the already wonderful service.

Overall my nails look good for me getting regular polish and the state of my nail beds.
I opted for regular polish since I just took off acrylic I knew gel/dip would just separate and crack. So the regular polish isn't as flat and clean but again she did a great job with how my nails are. Will be back for that gel service end of April before my trip! Thank you for your wonderful service…

What I loved about this school is that it is more diverse than others. The staff and students are super friendly! However services can be hit or miss. This is understandable because it’s a school. However when it’s a miss you can spend hours in there asking students to fix things and then when you write a review that is less than 5 stars the owner will respond with a long essay asking why didn’t you say anything and proceed to bully you. Please check out the other negative reviews and see for yourself how rudely the owner responds. The owner has every right to respond in order to clarify things but HOW she does is disappointing….

She told my friend and I about products we could use for our hair for health, vitality, and growth. She did my hair just like the photo I showed her and it came out great. She said I had an oval face so the haircut accentuated it. She used a heat protectant before blowdrying and straightening my hair. She also did an amazing job on my friends hair. He's never straightened it before and it looked completely different when she finished. I've never seen his hair look so nice in the 13 years I've known him. She took six inches off his hair too since he had so much breakage. Would definitely come back…

She never liked any appointment that I picked (despite her system allowing it). From the things she verbally said, it appears it's only worth her time if you spend $$$ with her. Despite tipping her over 130% on my last visit, she still wasn't happy, saying I was unkind and not pleasant. After making a big deal of saying how horrible it is to soak nails in acetone, that's what she ended up telling me to do instead of paying her to remove them.
