*only thing i found a little confusing was i put down a $20 deposit and i was told that it went towards the charge at the end of the service. when it was time to pay, i paid full price for both of our service. i didn’t mind paying tip of course and was not NOT satisfied with the service just found it a little odd that i was told one thing, and it just wasn’t what they said was going to happen…

I hate to write bad reviews but this is well deserved. Back in april, i had walked in to velvet because my boyfriend had been here before for a basic manicure and liked the ambiance. He had seen the nail tech that did his mani do another intricate set and recommended i go to her to get them done. When we arrived, we asked for kymmy, we didn’t wait too long. When i sat down, i showed her what i wanted and that i wanted ACRYLIC. When prepping me, she asked if i wanted Gel-x, i said no. Then she went on about why i SHOULD, do gel-x. Again, i declined and explained why i wanted acrylic. Then she tried to make me feel stupid with “do you even know what Gel-x is?” And continued trying to sell it. At this point i had said no 3x already and i felt uncomfortable saying no again because she was very persistent. I decided to give in even though its not what i wanted. What i asked for was TAPERED SQUARE. She grabbed a box of tips and started applying. They looked very unsquare but i tried trusting the process because Ive seen other nail techs work magic. After applying tips on all my nails and never confirming the shape before doing them all, she went to put the tips away and on the box it said coffin tips. I was very angry at this point but once again i tried to trust the process. She applied a nude pink gel when the picture i showed was mkre translucent pink-nude. There was never any confirmation that it was what i wanted or if i liked it. She basically just did whatever the hell she wanted. The picture i showed was a translucent nude-pink with jade green french. She made the base so pink and then pulled out a seafoam green that was so far from the color. I asked for the other green and she applied and asked me if i liked it. Because the base was pink and not nude it looked horrendous. I was so angry and just wanted to leave so i said to just use white and finish it. She had the nerve to say “yea the white looks better anyways.” But of course it looked better that way because she didnt do the nails the right color. When i walked out of the salon and looked closer at my nails i was so enraged. They were crooked, the polish didnt cover the tips or sides and they were already chipped. And the french design was so thick and choppy i cant even begin to understand how she thought it was similar or okay to do. My man paid almost $100 for her to do whatever she pleased and F my nails up. I did not enjoy the gel-x, it ruined my nail beds and the skin under my nails grew so poorly and long that i couldnt even get another set done for awhile because i couldnt clips them down or try to restore my nails. I have cracks in my nails and the health of them declined after seeing her. This was the worst set ive ever gotten and experience Ive had. And when you see the pictures compared to the inspiration, it doesnt make sense to as why she thought she could do what she did. I wish i could go back in time and leave when i first saw that she was just gonna be careless and self involved. I only had a few pics and theyre not the best but i couldnt even look at my hands without getting angry. But anyone with eyes could see that they are no where close to each other. I need Kymmy to do better and listen to her clients instead of thinking she knows everything and doing as she pleases with other peoples hands and money….

As a mother excited to spend quality time with my daughter, I was eager to treat ourselves to a manicure and pedicure package at the nail salon conveniently located in the heart of Walmart. The prospect of people-watching added a unique charm to the experience, but unfortunately, our visit left much to be desired.

From the outset, it was clear that the salon was not conducive to intimate bonding moments. I WILL NOT COME BACK. Constantly having to remind the staff about missed details detracted from the relaxation we had hoped for. The older woman overseeing the salon quoted us a hefty price of $130 for the package, which was supposed to include drinks—a promise that went unfulfilled.

Moreover, the quality of service fell short of expectations. Rather than providing a serene environment, the rushed and seemingly indifferent demeanor of the staff left us feeling undervalued as customers. Basic requests, such as adjusting the technique used to work on my nails, were met with reluctance.

As a business owner myself, I understand the importance of delivering value to customers. It's disappointing to see a fellow business fail to prioritize customer satisfaction and deliver subpar results, especially considering the premium price charged for the services.

The younger lady was pleasant and I gave her a tip for her helping me book over the phone.

In conclusion, our visit to the nail salon at Walmart was a letdown. Despite the convenience and potential for enjoyment, the lackluster service and disregard for customer experience overshadowed any positives. It's evident that there's room for improvement in both the quality of service and attention to customer needs….

I’m so so sad as I haven’t gotten my nails done in 3 years. I came here as everyone said it was good. The Nail Technician Rushed and was aggressive with my hand, causing my cuticle to bleed. I asked for an Almond shape with French tip and even provided a photo of what I wanted done. Instead I left with poorly shapened nails, horrible French tip painting and pieces for acrylic hanging from my nail, they aren’t the length in the photo and aren’t even either. Someone recommended this place. They were open early and I think I was the first to walk in the door. I asked for a mani/pedi but I guess they forgot about the manicure and I’m ok with that. Beautiful, clean looking salon, with all the color options laid out in a table. They offer a beverage. They put flowers on the table. I paid $45 for a pink cosmo pedicure and an extra $10 for gel removal on my toes. I’m not sure which part of it was pink. I had let my toenails grow out as I was out of state and prefer to have my nails done in Florida. If you live in a sunny state and have had a pedicure in a cold weather state, you understand. I’m disappointed. The color does not seem even, but I really don’t like the ragged edges. Not sure if you can see the details, so I took a pic inside and again outside in the sun. Shame on me because I should have gone to my regular salon. All that glam just cost me extra money….

Two years ago I forgot my gold bracelet on the table and when I called three days later they told me they had it in a drawer for me.
They are honest and dedicated people.
Not to mention every single detail of the place it’s done with so much thought behind it. It feels like a Luxe Spa!
I just went a few days ago and they’ve done a few more updates. They have a host who specifically caters to you and goes around serving drinks and brings you anything you need. They also have a variety of nice packages at decent prices.
Moreover, I like the fact that they customize my experience to my liking and I can choose a male tech to do my pedicures and massages. I love my foot rub and chrome toes and it’s worth mentioning that Tree (my tech) did a great job! We left happy and relaxed….

First time visiting Meraki Nail Lounge, and you're greeted right away. The place is beautifully designed. The employees are friendly. I was a walk-in early Saturday morning and wanted a gel manicure and pedicure. My technician was JP. He moved very fast, and at times, his techniques were harsh throughout the process, and not quite listening to what I was requesting. I had cuts on my toes whixh bleed while there, and my nail beds were sore. My nails started peeling within 5 days. Now, before you say anything, I wasn't doing any type of hard manual labor. Even washing dishes, I would wear gloves. Going back could be a possibility to see how the other technicians are, but if so, definitely not with JP. Upside: The place is bright, open, and beautifully maintained, and they offer free beverages….

Edit: came back to add my March nails which were so cool. They came out exactly like the inspiration picture I brought her.
I wish I had pics of some of my other favorites like over the holidays, but suffice to say they were awesome and for once I found a tech that never leaves me feeling like I've wasted my money. They serve a complimentary drink (1 per person), which is a cute little idea while getting pampered!
Our nail techs were very friendly and super helpful when it came to matching the nails we wanted off online pictures.
Downfall, one set of nails turned out terrible. The clear polish bubbled and just looked so messy. They did not give any foot, leg or hand massages like other salons do (that is our favorite part is the massage), and also, they don't offer lotions once you are done.

Can’t recommend. They don’t answer their phone so you are forced to be a walkin. Then waited in a pedi chair soaking for 55 (!) minutes. Tried to talk to someone after getting up to leave but was told the boss was on vacation and no one was left in charge. 🤷🏼‍♀️after (hour late) pedicure I asked to add on a manicure and 5 (five!) minutes was out with a coat of clear nail polish and top coat. At first I was like, ok, they are going to throw in this 5 min “job” no charge. Nope. No hand massage. ONE coat of polish. I hear ya. I know they want to maximize revenue but with folks getting fancier and more complicated services it takes longer. Go somewhere else. At least someplace that doesnt (1) lie to you and (2) talk about you while you are still there. So by the time I got home the ONE LAYER of clear polish was gone. WASTE OF mONEY…

Today I walked in to see about getting a pedicure as I wanted to give them another try since the location is convenient. Upon walking in no one acknowledged me but a few seconds after I walked in another lady came in behind me & they acknowledged what I thought was me & when I asked about a pedicure she looked at the lady behind me & asked if we were together to which the lady shook her head & the lady proceeds to ask her to take a seat & then she completely ignores me & let’s me stand there before I just decided to leave.

I will drive to Alabama to get my nails done before I walk in this salon again. I decided to give them another try bc they are convenient, close to where I live. I arrived at 5:30 and told them I needed a fill and pedicure. The nail ladies were busy but the pedi ladies were free so they did that first. Great, no problem. She finishes and tells me the nail ladies would let me know when they were ready. In the midst of my pedicure someone walks in and wants their nails done. Instead of telling HER no we don’t have time tonight bc I’m waiting and by this time it was about 6 pm, they took her. So they tell me to wait and after about 30 minutes she comes to me and asks me to come back tomorrow bc the other customers are going to be awhile. Like I haven’t already been sitting here AFTER working all day myself. I asked why didn’t anyone tell me this after my pedicure. She said she told the lady she should tell me, but clearly no one did. Then I went to pay for my pedicure and I get the most careless “sorry” I’ve ever heard in my life. No discount on my pedi for the troubles AND I still tipped this woman for my service. Y’all have left a bad taste in my mouth for the last time. Definitely should’ve told the walk in you couldn’t take anyone else tonight since I was already there, but prioritizing profit over customer experience y’all thought y'all could squeeze one more person in and make double the money. Now you’ve lost a customer who went against her better judgement to give you guys another try for the past several months.***

I saw Lily a few months ago for a full set and pedicure. No issues. Except they charged me $150 which was outrageous, but I didn’t make a fuss I just paid and tipped and left.

Went a few weeks after that for a manicure and pedicure with gel polish. It was one of the most awful nail jobs I’d ever received. Polish was all over my skin, nails were filed crooked, and both services were done in the pedicure chair. My appointment was at 530 so they were rushing to get me out before close.

I said I wasn’t going to go back, but it’s 5 minutes from my house so I decided to go up there this past Saturday 7/29. I got there at 8:40 and the door was open, so I went in and was serviced immediately. That was nice. I asked for the same thing as last time, manicure and pedicure with gel polish. My feet were satisfactory. Except the polish has a black tinted film on it. I get matte top, and never have I had an issue with my polish looking dingy. But the REAL issue is with my nails. My left index finger polish peeled off THE VERY NEXT DAY!!!!!! Several of my other nails were already chipping. There is polish on my left ring finger skin and when I tried to pick it off it started to peel the paint off the nail so I just left it. This happened after close of business Sunday and I work all week so I haven’t been able to go back. Not that I really care to, I’m sure nothing will be done or I’ll just be given another low quality service. I paid $110 for these services. It’s ridiculous to charge $20 for gel polish for both hands AND feet separately. That’s $40 for a $10 bottle of polish.

The ladies are nice though. Only reason they got 2 stars. Services are terrible and products used are low quality.

Service with Emily was nothing better than terrible. I’m extremely easy to please with nails. I told Emily to cut my nails shorter and fill them in as to why I came in. She suggested a longer length but I told her that was still too long and cut them a little bit shorter. PSA you can have short acrylic and it still not come out to NUMBS!
This woman cut my nails so short it was absolutely nothing but numbs left. As I began watching her work that she was rushing through, I could tell her attitude changed because I was monitoring the work she would demand to be paid for afterwards. She began grabbing my hand and not letting the bad attitude or the rushing go unnoticed on her behalf. Fine with me I will keep my tip. [I always tip my nail tech $10 nothing less] as I was leaving I asked the lady about pricing and Emily came from around the corner with a attitude [per usual] telling me I should be charged $5 more.
I said, Emily these nails are disgustingly ugly and you KNOW that! Instead of offering anything at all she just gave me more attitude and told me everything was my fault!
Save your money, don’t pay to be mistreated and undervalued. We work for our money same way they do. Spend it with people who appreciate your business.

Yesterday morning I went to this salon for services of a French fill. I sat down with a different nail technician this time. As she was filing my nails she said “you know they are saying you are difficult to work with” “it’s not my turn to do her nails” in a language they knew I couldn’t understand. I have been coming to this salon for two years and generously have tipped way more than anyone should. This was unprofessional, disrespectful and unnecessary. I thanked the nail technician for telling me what they said and decided to go to a different salon. I will not be returning. In addition I was left with burning cuticals and skin under my nails glued with dip powder……

I’m honestly shocked at how many good reviews this place has, this place is NOT worth the $225 before tip I was charged. I left so disappointed. I stepped in multiple times during the session correcting color choices, areas on the nail, length, and filing issues.. so many times to where I finally just saved my voice and counted this as a loss. I made an appointment and specifically asked for someone who specializes in mail art as I’ve seen amazing work on their socials. Fast forward to this morning where I brought my 5 year old daughter do get her nails done with me (her gel nails were $85, which is absolutely insane for the zero prep done and quality hers ended up being).. Needless to say, I’ve already scheduled an appointment next week at my usual location by the beach….

He was friendly, paid great attention to detail & had excellent prep work! I got my nails done on a Wednesday at 11 so I qualified for their 10% happy hour (I think they have it on Monday & Wednesday mornings) I also noticed their staff had good customer service to each customer who came in & they didn’t have to wait long. This place is a rip off. My daughter went in Saturday to get her nails done for her ROTC dance. The guy told her $80. My daughter used her own money keep in mind and is 15 years old. When she went to pay, they told her “we don’t have a button for designs” so they charged her a $30 manicure on top of her acrylics. Now, you may be able to take advantage of a 15 year old girl who doesn’t know how to handle these situations but as her father, you WILL give my daughter her money back when I bring her into your shotty rip off salon or I will see you in court and the next phone call will be from my attorney (yes, I do have one) and the BBB. Please get back to me before you are out more than $40 due to you lying to your customers. Take your pick….

If I could give negative 5 stars I would the service s terrible we made an appointment and still waited there for 3 hours. I had a pedicure for me and my daughter done in gel polish and her nails just painted in gel and a manicure in gel for me they way over charged cost me $157. For I don’t even know exactly what because there’s my daughters nails two days later my fingers are all off as well and two toes peeled right off. I will never go back to this place ever again ! Talk about rip off . It was so depressing paying that much to have them done for our cruise to not have them even painted when we got on the boat it all just peeled right off. I specifically asked for a manicure because I wanted a manicure and I wanted my cuticles and nails cleaned up. The person who took my appt. confirmed this would be done.The Nail Technician (LiLi) was very rough and seemed to rush. She started to put nail extensions over my nails which were in bad shape with overgrown skin and needed to be cleaned up. When I told her I wanted my cuticles done she said "We do not do your cuticles if you get gel powder." I have been getting my nails done for years and they ALWAYS clean up the cuticles, either before or after the extension and powder is done. She argued with me about it but then removed the 3 extensions and cleaned the cuticles. She said the man who made the appt. "Must have forgotten to tell me." Since I spent 110.00 in your salon and gave almost a 30.00 tip, it should not be too much for a Customer to get what they were promised when they made the appt. I also did not appreciate the blasting 80's rock music….not very relaxing. I will not be back….
