Disclaimer my picture is after several weeks so a little grown out but I want to rave about Ruby and this salon. I am only visiting but my most of nails done at my hometown salon were lifting or separating. It seems my nail beds are too oily for what my previous tech put on me which she called powdered acrylic. So after researching nail salons I decided to go with Mystic and I called first to explain my situation. Ruby double checked with someone and agreed that my last set was not the right product for me. Fortunately Ruby got me in that same day. I made sure to explain that my natural nails are very thin so I was worried about how painful it might be to replace them. But she was extremely delicate and kept checking on me constantly to make sure she wasn't hurting me. She was very detailed too. The salon was clean and staff very friendly. There also seemed to be several regular customers which is a great sign. I look forward to visiting Ruby one more time for a fill and pedicure before leaving the area….

I had the absolute worst experience, and will never be returning! My husband wanted to do something nice. He was getting one of our vehicles serviced at the mechanic on the same strip. Instead of having me wait, he wanted to surprise me and take me to a nail shop. He paid upfront, and even left them a generous tip before I was even serviced.
The fact that they had no customers when I arrived, should have been my first red flag. This was my first time at this location, and absolute last time. The service was absolutely terrible, and the technicians came across very cold and unfriendly. I believe one golden rule of great customer service is to, actively listen to what your customer says and focus all your effort into first understanding how the customer feels and what the customer is asking for. Most nail salons I have visited in the past make friendly general conversations. Which I appreciate, because it allows you to build more personable relationships. As well as makes a customer want to come back, and even have a specific technician they request for each time. Which is how the technicians build a client list.
I understand that sometimes as a customer, I prefer a more quiet nail visit. However, as a new customer it would have been nice for the nail techs to make conversation. To make me feel comfortable and welcomed in their nail shop. I am new to area and I’m looking to find a new regular nail shop. I was hopping that this would be the one. Safe to say it most definitely will not be. I tried to engage my technician in conversation multiple times. Each time, she gave very one word short replies and gave off an aura of being disinterested in the conversation. I thought to myself, that maybe her English was just not very well. However, that was not the case. As I heard them engaging in clear English conversations with another customer who walked in.
I asked to get a simple French ombré dip powder, nude to white. Instead of showing me different ombré colors, she continuously tried to show me the nail wheel of colorful colors. Which was not what I was requesting. She then only showed me a pink ombré dip powder. Although I made it very clear that I wanted a nude to white ombré color.
To make things more simple I told her to just give me a classic French tip. I asked for a tapered square shape. Yet she just gave me square.
I got the special spa pedicure and was not even asked what kind of bath salt I wanted. The pedicure was rushed and done improperly. The paint on my toes were smudged and they did not even bother to fix it. I now have to go to an entirely different nail salon, to have my pedicure redone properly. My husband had paid for me to get my eyebrows waxed. After receiving such terrible service, I told them I no longer wanted it. Even though my husband had already paid for it, I did not trust them to touch my face.
They offered complimentary wine and I requested the Cabernet Sauvignon, yet was given a white moscato.
My husband came in to sit with me, after our vehicle was done being repaired. They kept trying to force my husband to get a pedicure, after he repeatedly told them no. This made him extremely uncomfortable and dissatisfied with the service. Safe to say, we will never refer anyone or return to this location….

I love the convenient location but hate the fact they scammed me, I was overcharged! I asked how much for a standard acrylic fill w/gel polish on the phone & when I arrived. I was quoted $45 (my nails were longer when I walked in btw…) When I checked out, the tech charged me $65! For an acrylic fill, gel polish and 2 nail stickers. One wasn’t even what I wanted and she put it on crooked.

I sat there for almost an hour and was in the seat for another hour+. The language barrier was hard too with my tech, I asked for acrylic just like I had and she told me I couldn’t have the color I picked out that it was a dip. It wasn’t, she admitted that after she started applying colored acrylic powder. I had to stop her and point to my nails and say “just like this – clear”.

At first I left but then turned around as I felt very taken advantage of. I went back in and asked the same guy that quoted me $45 two hours prior, how much for these nails? He said $50. I said you quoted me $45, she charged me $65. Another lady that worked there walked up and gave me $5 back and said “so sorry”. You won’t catch me back in there. Dishonest business practices hurt our community, beware!…

I’ve been to 5+ nail salons in Pensacola and The Nail Scene is definitely my favorite. My regular salon was not open today, but The Nail Scene is open even Sunday which is very convenient for those who only have time to get their nails done on the weekends. When I saw how cute and minimalistic it was on the inside, I looked into recent review photos and I could tell their nail styles were the same. Less is more in my opinion! I had an amazing pedicure by Hannah (2) or “little Hannah” as they call her. Hannah was super friendly and very gentle (I’m super ticklish.) After, Kristi did my dip nails with tips. I always try to do a see-through color to get a natural ombré look & she didn’t suggest against it like I’ve had happen to me in the past. Which was refreshing. She actually mentioned how she really liked it. It was all around a great experience. 🤍…

The decor is very modern and nice. It appears very clean but it’s also new.
It was quiet and they had music playing softly. I thoroughly enjoyed a massage with the chair.
The manager/owner talked a little took much while I preferred to relax. She was friendly though. I noticed that she was over the workers shoulders and kept watching every thing they did which would bother me if I were an employee and I wouldn’t feel I was trusted to adequately do my job and as a customer it made me uncomfortable too….

I had been to this salon a few times and had a good experience. Today, I went to get my nails done – just a gel manicure. The woman who did my nails was cutting my nails to be shorter. She cut my thumb WAY too short and caused my skin to bleed. She apologized but also seemed to blame my nail shape for why she cut my skin. (Never in the last 15 years have I had a nail tech cut into my skin.)

She then tried filing it down, which, as you can imagine, hurt very badly. Another nail tech (possibly the owner?) came to assist. She carefully cut what she could off of my nail to even it out the bedt that she could, but I still have a hang nail that will need to heal. They couldn't pain my thumbnail in case of infection. The original nail tech finished painting my other 9 nails. Honestly, they all seem much thinner than normal, which is concerning.

After the service, they tried charging me full price. When I questioned why I would pay full price after having my nail cut, they offered me a $20 gift card. I ended up thinking about it in the parking lot and walked back to ask for $20 off my service. Which they agreed to.

If you go here, the younger woman and man do a great job! Unfortunately, I would be hesitant about other nail techs at this salon….
