To start off, great customer service! Friendly, sociable, and inclusive. She was great!

The shape is nice, and the painting is good (minus a bit of clear polish spillage and a bit of color that got onto my cuticle that she wiped off with her nail). I'd say that the tips, faced head-on, and the underneaths of the nails were a bit rough leaving. I cleaned it up a little myself–the underneath, that is–but there was quite a bit of flecks of dremmeled, glued-on tips. They were easy to scrape off, though. Good length, good shape.

My nail beds are a bit sensitive, so at some points she was a little too rough for me, personally. I wish she had held onto my nail bed to dull the sensation a bit.

When glued on the stones, she left quite a bit of polish/glue, whichever it is, around the stones. I wish it was a little more subtle, but it isn't the end of the world.

These small mess ups land us at a 4/5 star rating, but I'd do 4.5 if possible. Good customer service, fun tech, pretty good set with some careless errors. I'll consider this place for the future for sure!…

OMG Thank you goggle review! I've been searching for a new nail salon. Mine of over 20 years sold out and moved away. Several of my friends went to there under the new management and were completely underwhelmed. In one instance, she's really upset about the service she got. I'm being really stingy and not telling who my tech was. I don't want her over run with other customers so I can't get in. The owners are super great. Oh and to add, some are too much to one side and not to the edge of the other side of my nail. I can see my real nail sticking out the side of some of my nails. She even cut me, which was an accident and I won’t blame her, but figured I should mention it in case someone else had the same experience and this is a regular thing. Probably one of the worst nail jobs I have had in a long while. My pedicure was fine, but I’ve had these acrylic nails for less than a week, and each and every single nail is already pulling up and catching my hair. I haven’t had time to stop and get an entirely new set; so I’ve been dealing with it.

The line work for the French is mediocre at best, and each of the tips weren’t fully painted in. Unfortunately, I didn’t do a great inspection prior to me getting home and realizing they were all horrible. They are lumpy in several areas, and you can literally see my natural nail through the paint. I would not come back unless you’re only getting gel. This was WITH an appointment too, so they knew I was getting a full new set with French gel….

Not the best, not the worst. I recently moved to this side of town and have been trying to find a new nail salon so I decided to try out Ooh La La. Everyone was very friendly and personable but the quality just wasn’t there. I requested a regular polish change on my toes and SNS change on my nails with chrome powder. My toes weren’t polished very well but it wasn’t the worst I’ve ever had so I didn’t really say anything. I did have to request that she reshape my nails a couple times as two of them were very clearly crooked. She did the almond shape ($6 up charge, which I’ve never seen before so that’s a con as well) like I asked but by the time they were cut down and filed so many times they were much shorter than I usually get/was expecting. The salon has dim lighting so I didn’t notice until I got home that a couple of my nails were lumpy (Was hard to get my camera to focus on my nail, but the lump is clearly visible in person). I may try them again one day if I don’t find another salon I commit to….

I have been coming here for months just for gel polish manicure and a deluxe pedicure and have not been unhappy except for my first visit when my polish peeled off. They paired me with a new tech Emily and I thought things were good. She did have a terrible attitude at times but I just shrugged it off. Tried to book my next appointment and was told the nail tech didn't think she was meeting "expectations" but I was happy every time. Finding somewhere else that will treat me kindly, take my money, and I guess meet "my expectations". The last time I saw my nail tech we tried to layer 2 colors and needed to redo the color which was unfortanate. Then she tried to sit me in a chair that I know has been broken for over a month. I asked to be moved and she seemed pissed off at me the rest of my visit. I always tipped well and treated people kindly. The shop was clean and they took me as a walk-in for an acrylic manicure. The gentleman they placed me with was very chatty and felt okay using a slur word about a personal situation he was involved in. He was already into my second hand so I couldn’t leave and get to my next appointment without the job being finished. So I stayed.

He was very rough with filing my old nails down – normally this is done with the electric tool but for some reason he decided to use heavy duty emory boards. That made it quite uncomfortable.

The finished nails were pretty sturdy and shaped well but he said they don’t have the product to do the American style anymore and tried to mimic it with a neutral / pink. I don’t love it. It made my nails look dingy.

While the overall shop is conveniently located and clean I will pass on returning to this shop.

Update May 2024: based on the shops response I double checked the location from the loyalty card provided when I checked out. It’s definitely the right location.

Since I take review writing seriously I would say try the location if you like but avoid the gentleman if he is still on staff….

I had such an AMAZING time at Royal Essence! This was the very first time I went to a different nail salon from my usual, but honestly, this place will DEFINITELY be my new favorite. The lady I had, Angie, was very, very sweet. They greeted me at the door and the atmosphere was so bright and clean! Angie automatically offered refreshments and respected that I am a quiet person. I showed her a reference photo and even though she saw it once for maybe 10 seconds, she brought those nails to LIFE! She frequently asked if everything looked good at every step and she was very receptive. There are not many nail techs I've found that can shape nails really well for coffin or square and Kevin always does them perfectly! The atmosphere is clean, everyone is friendly and it's my go to for nails! Reasonably priced for sure! They could however probably have a clean music Playlist for the elders in the salon.
