Usually I have a great experience here, but today the gentleman doing my nails couldn’t fidget out how to keep the tip of mg acrylic nails straight. Pointed it out multiple times just to end up with nails of all different lengths and multiple still crooked. I just had to stop trying to point things out because nothing was getting better. And the flower designs I asked for ended up just being lines for pedals. Super unfortunate to spend the amount we do on our nails to look beautiful just to have a frustrating experience and not love your nails afterwards. Feeling helpless when trying to explain what you’re seeing wrong. Unsure if I will be returning after today’s set. What I wanted vs what I got pictures attached….

I was in here at 5:50pm wanting a mani pedi, I got off work and went to the gym so I know I was in there late, but their first words to me “we’re trying to close early.” Already not feeling welcomed in as a client should feel. They ask for a picture of what I want they say they can do it. Well later on she confesses they were trying to get me to leave but I sat down anyway. Okay well if you said you could do it then why wouldn’t I sit down?

Halfway through nail prep I’ve already been cut up and tore up on each finger and it’s pretty clear the girl doing my nails is new at it. I’m not very happy with that considering I’m going on a trip for the next week so now I have to live with my fingers being shredded and she neglected to tell me the red bottoms (ones you can’t even see underneath) was an charge extra.

My nails and fingers hurt so bad from constant cuts and wiping with acetone, and the acrylic is super thick on some nails, and bubbly on others. Some are a little crooked but that’s honestly the least of my worries, my number one worry is the pain I’m in. I was bleeding so hopefully those tools are thrown away or replaced. But I doubt it. Just overall bad experience. They seem like nice people just bad service. Please for future reference tell the client if you’re new to nails, disclosing that can lose you money but it’s better to lose money now than to have a bad review and a paying client that won’t return.

I would ask for a refund but I’m already leaving for my trip so I don’t have time….

I got my nails done there and let me tell you, for one they were busy and still attended to me quickly, for two, they are very kind and patient and helped me look for the color I wanted. Because they didn’t have the color I wanted I ended up getting regular polish really not expecting it to come out too great, but I can’t even like it looks like I have gel polish on they came out amazing. They’re not thick, I got coffin and the man actually took his time to give me the shape, which I can never seem to get any more so I was even happier. I used to enjoy coming here to get my nails done until my favorite tech (Hana) quit. The guy who has been doing my nails the last few appointments (ken?) is disappointing at best.
1. He lays gel on very thick. My nails look fat/overfull every time he does them.
2. His shaping is crooked and uneven. I asked for coffin, he gave me square.
3. During my last appointment his behavior towards the end was worrying. He seemed to be on drugs (cocaine?) as he was very shaky and spent a weirdly excessive amount of time on my left pinky nail, just for it to end up looking bad. He just generally had that coked out demeanor.
4. He cut the very same finger. My last appointment, he cut a different finger. Once is fine. Twice is not a simple mistake, but carelessness.
5. The gel on the same finger with the cut spilled way over the edge of the nail onto my skin. It hurts to try to separate from the skin due to the cut.

I unfortunately will not be returning….

I came in as a walk in on Mother's Day for a pedi (My 1st visit). Although the staff was nice, the service was very much mediocre. The tech didn't cover the foot spa with plastic liner and I felt like all the products used to care for my feet were poor quality. The tech placed the foot scraper she was using on my feet onto newspaper and she cleaned both the foot scraper and scrubber used on my feet in the water that my feet were still in 😳 and placed them back in her compartment to be reused..smh. The tech did a good job at polishing my toe nails but the polish of my big toe chipped off after only being on for 2 days..smh

I recently visited and had the grossest experience imaginable. The technician Nia used her own fingernail to push back my cuticles during the manicure, which was completely unhygienic and frankly, repulsive. Not only is this a clear violation of basic hygiene standards, but it also made me extremely uncomfortable throughout the entire appointment.

I have been getting gel nails for over 10 years at another nail salon and they customarily last weeks. My regular nail technician was out of the country for the holidays so I decided to try Magic Nails for a manicure and gel.nails. I had this service on a Friday evening and when I woke up Saturday morning, an entire gel nail was in my bed. Went back to shop and they redid the nail. Then, when I woke up Sunday and 2 more nails had fallen off. Went back to shop and had them replaced. It Then to make matters worse, when I arrived home, another nail fell off🤨
I do not recommend this shop and will not patronize them again. morning. 2 more nails had fallen off during the night. I don't know what product they use for gel nails, but it appears to be inferior….

The girl who did my nails did a TERRIBLE job, they don't like when you ask them to fix something. The day after I got my nails done, the gel polish started peeling off 4 nails. I had really painful burns after the eyebrow wax I received yesterday. I was impressed with the speed and price of the service, but almost right after I stepped outside, I had painful burning on my upper eyelids. Ice helps, but every topical cream or ointment (including aloe vera) just hurts more. I don't know what exactly she did wrong as I have never had this issue, and I've had my eyebrows waxed several times before at various other locations. I suspect that part of the issue was that she did not prep the brow with any solutions before applying the wax. (I am not on any prescription medications, and I don't use any prescription ointments or retinoids like Accutane. There was nothing on my skin prior to the waxing service. So I know it cannot be a conflict with some other substance.)

I think I may return to ask for my money back. Today my eyelids are still painful and now they are swollen as well. I'm in a lot of discomfort and I am afraid to go visit a local pool or beach because the water might sting my eyelids and the sun could worsen the burns. I'd avoid this place for waxing services in the future. It makes me sad because I was hoping this could be my go-to spot for waxing since it is so close. Attached is a photo of my reddened burned eyelids, but it's difficult to distinguish the swelling that is also there.

The stylist who performed the service had a pleasant demeanor, but she was not talkative. Her movements while waxing seemed practiced and expedient. I don't know her name. However, she is pregnant, in case that helps identify her. I don't wish to get her in trouble, just to point out that something in this business' waxing services needs to be improved so that this doesn't happen to anyone else.
I paid $10 + tip for the service.

Update: 9/1/24, The day after the service, I went into the shop to let them know what happened. I looked for the woman who did the waxing, but she wasn't there. I spoke with a different woman who at first apologized a few times "I am so sorry" but (1) did not offer a refund (2) suggested that I simply have a sensitivity (3) did not admit that the woman did anything wrong (4) repeated that it "didn't look that bad" and wouldn't leave a scar. As for (1), I did request a refund and she finally agreed to that, but she grew very upset when I asked for one. Previously she had been calm but as soon as I mentioned wanting a refund, she complained that the woman who peformed the wax "spent time" on the service and deserved payment for that. Normally I would agree, but if you hurt your customers, why should they have to pay you for that privilege? As for (2), I've had my eyebrows waxed (and threaded, for that matter) at other establishments and NEVER had discomfort lasting more than a few minutes after the service. It never occurred to me that waxing could do this kind of damage. I don't have ANY allergies or sensitivities. I'm not on any medication. As for (3), I'm very disappointed because my hope in coming back to K K Nails to explain the issue was that they would make things right and update their waxing procedure so that other people won't experience this. The woman I spoke to today, however, insisted that she's never had any other customers complain about this. I can't think how that could be unless this brow techician was new. As for (4), her insistence that it "didn't look that bad" and would clear up in a couple days was unnecessary, invalidating, and frustrating.
Ultimately she advised me not to come back to K K Nails for eyebrow waxing. I'm disappointed with that as well because: (1) obviously after this experience I had already decided that and (2) it is bad business practice to tell a customer not to return if they have issues. Here is what would have made things right: Offer a refund, apologize in earnest, and promise the next service will have no issues.
Instead, I received excuses, a defensive attitude, and anger. She was so begrudging with my refund request that I refused the $10. I truly regret that I will not return. I had wanted this to be my regular spot….

Safe to say that I will not be returning. I went in to get my acrylic nails taken off and get a gel manicure. Nail tech Lily pried off my acrylic nails with a scalpel instead of soaking them in acetone. My natural nails were peeled off to the nubs which caused my index and middle fingers to bleed. If you look closely, you will notice that my index finger has an acrylic tip since my nail-bed was raw and bleeding and she could not paint over that. This was an extremely painful experience. It’s already the next day and my fingers are still sore from this experience. I paid $35 dollars on a gel manicure that has ultimately compromised my natural nails. The tech is either lazy or poorly trained and should not be doing other peoples nails. Management also saw this entire ordeal take place and did not intervene. I would give ZERO stars if I could. Beware if you decide to get your nails done here.

Update: it’s been exactly one week since I went to this nail salon and most of my nails have already started to break off. This morning the acrylic tip on my index finger even came off. I am uploading a few more photos that capture the damage done to my natural nails….
